Olubiyi Thomas
Designer Olubiyi Thomas was born in Nigeria, raised in Scotland, and graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2013. After graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2013, he worked as a patterner at Alexander McQueen before founding Olubiyi Thomas in June 2016. He is currently based in London. He uses only discarded clothing and interior furnishing scraps, dead stock from small hand weaving converters in Scotland and England, and indigenous materials from his roots in West Africa. The collection mixes the indigenous cultures and customs of each region with the glamorous layered costumes of the Victorian era.
